I take my hat off to you guys sailing in that wind - bet it's a major relief to reach a sheltered bay at the end of the day! Although so nice in a way to be able to decide you don't like a particular place, and just move on. I am puzzled as to what is a bimini (vou die bimini op)? Obviously something that has to be tied down. Wishing you safe sailing and hope the wind abates somewhat.
Hi Paddy The bimini is the canvas roof that covers the cockpit and is an essential piece of kit in these sometimes sweltering temperatures. Is is, however, prone to wind damage and needs to be folded and tied up when big winds occur. We lost our bimini in 2013 in Montenegro when some very high speed winds hit us in the Gulf of Kotor. Since then we are much more circumspect. Thanks again for the comments. Regards
